Q2 2026 MEOS Survey

In this unpredictable labor market, it’s hard to know what’s coming. Each quarter, ManpowerGroup surveys over 40,000 employers worldwide, including 6,000+ in the United States, to uncover staffing plans for the upcoming quarter.

For Q2 2026, the U.S. Net Employment Outlook (NEO) is 38% – up 11 points from the last quarter and 4 points from last year.

The NEO is calculated by subtracting the number of employers planning reductions from those planning to add to staff.

Here are some key highlights from this quarter’s report:

·       Construction and Real Estate is the top sector with a NEO of 48%.

·       Regionally, the South has the highest NEO, at 41%

·       Medium-to-large organizations (50-999 employees) posted the strongest NEO at 42%.
